Replicating Value
Value means a lot of things.
It can be tangible, like money. You know how much you have. And you know what you can get with it.
Value can be abstract, like happiness. You know when you feel happy. Yet you can’t always describe how much of it you have.
Value can be given. It can also be taken.
Value can be delivered. It can be robbed.
Value can be created. It can be destroyed.
It can be continuously transformed.
You can receive something valuable and deliver it to someone else.
You could create a tool to help others do what they do more efficiently.
Someone else could be inspired to build the same.
Then the value you created grows, extending beyond your reach, in space and time.
Such a weird thing.
Creating and sharing value brings me joy.
It appears in unpredictable ways.
Saying hello to that person you always see sitting on a bench.
One smile greets another one, your head nod leads to theirs.
Then the receding of your steps conclude this moment.
A simple act that can brighten their day. But also yours in return.
Value can be given, sure. But most times, it is replicated.
